MetaTrader-5 or MT5 is a 5th generation free trading platform released in 2010 by MetaQuotes. MT5 provides trading services to customers in Forex, CFDs, and Futures, as well as equity markets.

MT5 and MT4 Comparison

In comparison to MT4, MetaTrader-5 offers more features such as direct stocks and futures trading, more timeframes, analytical objects, market depth, and six (6) types of pending orders. In addition, the programming language MQL5 is more advanced than MQL4.

The Automated Platform MetaTrader-5

• The MetaTrader-5 platform provides 3 types of charts: line charts, bar charts, and Japanese Candlestick charts. Charts include a wide range of settings so that traders can customize and adapt them to their personal needs.
• There are 44 analytical objects which may be placed in separate sub-windows or in the symbol chart. It is possible for traders to construct individual charts based on other indicators' data.
• There are 21 timeframes: from one-minute to one-month. Furthermore, additional information may be visualized (last price, tick volumes, OHLC lines, and others).
• MetaTrader-5 includes a large number of fundamental analysis software.
• Financial news from international news agencies. News like annual reports, new regulatory laws affecting companies and stocks, plus other information.
• MetaTrader-5 is designed in the MQL5 environment to offer Integrated Development that includes all the necessary tools to develop, test, debug, and run MQL5 programs.
